‘This collection shows that Populists don’t just instrumentalise religion: Europe’s conservative Christians feeling left behind by cultural change + are bargaining with illiberal political actors’. -Me on THE CHRISTIAN RIGHT IN EUROPE (UChicagoPress) churchtimes.co.uk/articles/2024/…

The thing with centre-left and centre-right parties today is that they cannot stop themselves from parroting the radical right. They can't help it. This lot is 20 points ahead, imagine what they'd say if there were 5 points behind...

Presumably God has long blessed Palestine and its people too, who by that same token cannot be destroyed. Perhaps God blesses both peoples and wishes for them to live together in peace, sharing the land and its fruits.

In my mind sharing AI generated imagery from conflict makes you complicit in the denial of war crimes, because you're helping the side you're against deny future crimes by claiming side uses AI generated imagery of war crimes so can't be trusted.

Remember to account for turnout when the results of the European elections come out For example: if the RN gets 30% but turnout is only 50%, it means 85% of voters did *not* vote for the RN Them winning is awful and 15% far too much but don't make them look bigger than they are

According to the exit poll, the radical right Konfederacja gained the most support among voters aged 18-29, with 30.1% in this age group against 11.9% overall. One of the new MEPs will be the guy who used a fire extinguisher to put out Hanukkah candles in the Polish parliament.

#Europawahl

At the risk of repeating myself, here’s a quick summary all in one place of some of the upstanding geniuses in the new Dutch cabinet:

Gionathan Lo Mascolo Dear Dr. Lo Mascolo: Thanks for editing this great volume. I've enjoyed reading "The Christian Right in Europe." I will cite it in my populism and religion book project and teach it in my courses.
