Let's bring back Britain's lost rainforests!
Our new maps show that 20% of Britain has a climate suitable for temperate rainforest, but that rainforest now covers just 1% of the country.

Definitely agree with Baroness Brown of Cambridge, Julia King Chair of Climate Change Committee climate adaptation #GAEvent - habitat restoration is key to delivering net zero through carbon sequestration & storage (I'd just + semi-natural #grasslands to the list of important carbon stores, as well as trees and peat!)
Our #Nature2030 progress report is published today.
It shows just 3.22% of the land and 8% of the sea are effectively protected #ForNature in England.
The Government has made little progress toward its (excellent) #30x30 promise to protect 30% by 2030.
