What I am most disgusted about is the fact that once they submitted their application, they received no questions or feedback on any of the documents they submitted despite frequent communications to the Department. The Minister needs to answer questions on this.

While Eamon Ryan and I differ massively on policies and ideology, I wish him and his family nothing but the best of good luck, health and happiness in his retirement. Public life isn’t always easy but he always stuck to his guns and I respect that in a person.

Very sorry to learn of Bernard’s passing, I first met Bernard when I served on the old southern health board when I was a councillor. He was a great public representative but most of all he was a pure gentleman and a sound man to deal with.

It’s only right that the public can view these meetings and see what councillors are raising. I first raised this in 2021 and finally we seem to have gotten consensus from management that this will begin in October/November this year once everything is in place.

Why pit these against each other ? The Horse and Greyhound industry provides massive economic returns to the exchequer. The Government has over €3Bn of a surplus for the upcoming budget, I am sure they could at the very least double the €25 million for high performance sport.

I’m calling for Garda Commissioner Drew Harris to resign now, rather than waiting for his contract to end. His leadership has faltered, the membership doesn’t want him and the current policies are failing. Waiting until April 25 will only make things worse. Time for a change.

Delighted to attend the All Ireland Vintage Rally today in Killarney. There was a great display of cars, tractors, thrashing, cultivating, exhibitions and much more. It was a real celebration of our heritage and it was brilliant to see.
