Timpson’s are well-known for employing ex-offenders to help them back into work. They pay their tax. They value their staff. And then there’s this. CEO James Timpson (who’s also Chair of the Prison Reform Trust) is the new Prisons Minister. Great appointment

A very special day celebrating The Flow Country 's successful #worldheritagesite bid. HM The King unveiled the plaque, using a blanket made with our wool, grown by NCC hill sheep, which graze on The Flow Country and made by the amazing Maria Benjamin . Great seeing so many folk.

No one ever deserved to win a thing more! I’m lucky to call this amazing woman my friend. She’s turns our (and lots of other farmer’s) wool in to tweed, makes soap, etc etc. Takes huge risks and invests to make Cumbria better. Check out her brilliant products Maria Benjamin

Coniston throw made using wool from farms in the valley. The design is inspired by the green of Coniston slate and colour and structure of the copper mines. The soap is made using our Jersey milk and fragrance is Bog Myrtle and Heather, abundant on the fells.

Admired Joyce Campbell for a long time and when she posted about what to do with her wool, one thing led to another and I ended up having tweed and throws made with her wool. So much of what we wear and have in our homes is anonymous. I like this connection to people and place.

So excited to have the Eskdale throws back from the weavers, the design is based on the turn table on the La’l Ratty and the colour on the distinctive eskdale granite. Three farms in the valley provided the wool #lakedistricttweed Lake District LakesFarming British Wool Farm

Here’s a link to a new website I’ve been working on to help and encourage designers and makers to work with British wool. It would have been really useful to me when I started out so hope it helps. greatbritishwoolrevival.co.uk
