He’s an orthopedic doctor, but also got a master’s degree in political science from al-Azhar University in Gaza a few years ago.

Dr Adnan al-Bursh, detained by Israeli forces from Shifa Hospital in Gaza in December, and died in prison under torture in May.

My colleague journalist Muhammed Hajjar was heading south from Gaza City this morning in preparation to travel to Egypt. He was afraid the Israeli army would detain him for his work. They didn’t. They detained his wife and forced him to leave. Now he knows nothing about her fate!
