We published this in 2021. Sadly things have not changed and clinical trials still enroll patients on unethical control arms. Furthermore, trial results are celebrated at our biggest oncology meeting. This shouldn’t be hard to fix. #ASCO24

This phenomena has been well observed in myeloma trials as well 😢

This is a very provocative study by Harsh Parmar MD et al

Use of lenalidomide maintenance in a large real-world cohort (971 no maint, 957 with maint) was not associated with improved overall survival in patients with myeloma.

The question is in what direction confounding occurred

I highly recommend this podcast. An excellent summary of some great topics- learnt a lot about transplant associated thrombotic microangiopathy (founds lots of great references to read afterwards), and the landscape of allo-transplant for p53 mutated MDS/AML!
