12:06a (Now Saturday) My saint of a wife picks me up from the traffic cluster better know as the Charlotte Airport. ETA at the homestead….12:24a. What a brutal trip. Thanks, Delta. Nice job.

Georgia punishes Clemson in the 2nd half and makes their case that they are best in CFB. Clemson’s offensive approach continues to bewilder. The inability to throw downfield with any consistency or reliability is baffling. More fascinating Week 1 match-ups today/tonight.

The “U” is putting the smackdown on Florida. Up 4 touchdowns, Miami living up to preseason hype with this performance. Cam Ward is dazzling with all his offensive weapons. Big time performance by Cristobal’s guys smashing the Gators in the Swamp.

Early Saturday observations: Kyle McCord and his Syracuse offense are rollin’….highly entertaining game with Ga Tech. Texas looks legit…Michigan needs Connor Stallions ASAP. Did both Pitt & Penn State drink from the same water cooler? Both are struggling.

I know the sample size is small… However, When is the last time we can actually watch games and claim that BOTH Texas and Miami are back? Between the Canes performance last week on the road at Florida, and now watching Texas maul Michigan in Ann Arbor… Both look terrific.

Heckuva comeback by Pitt…. Down 27-6 on the road, and the Panthers found a way in the 2H. Next week, the “Backyard Brawl” with their Big XII rivals from West Virginia. We’ve had some really entertaining noon games in Week 2.

Look at these scores: Cal now leads Auburn, 21-7…4th quarter. Notre Dame up 1 on Northern Illinois, too. Unbelievable. College football delivers crazy storylines every weekend.

Mark Packer (@markpacker) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Wow…despite some shaky officiating…Northern Illinois takes the lead on Notre Dame with :30 to play. Irish trail 16-14.

Cal stuns Auburn in Jordan-Hare. Monster win for Justin Wilcox, Cal….and the ACC. It’s still weird, but it’s the new world order of college sports.

Clemson is on pace to beat App State 112-0. Tigers are playing pissed-off. NC State kicks a FG…Vols still up 7-3 midway thru the first half.

Mark Packer (@markpacker) 's Twitter Profile Photo

My bad….Clemson just scored again. They’re on pace to beat App State, 140-0. Meanwhile, Wake leads UVA, 20-17 at the half in an expected high scoring game. Vols up 10-3 on NC State.

Momentum-swing…. Wolfpack driving deep into Tennessee territory looking to tie it up… Vols Pick-6, 85 yard scamper and now lead 17-3. Huge play. Stop me if you’ve heard this before….but Clemson just scored again. 42-zip. App State is a good club….unreal.

Heck of a win for Virginia. 4th Q rally in Switzerland knocks off WF, 31-30. Meanwhile, Clemson continues to cruise in Death Valley….Tennessee up big on the Pack….the Pick-6 was the momentum swing for the Vols and they haven’t looked back.

For every single college football fan that is discouraged, upset or frustrated with their favorite team's performance to date...I have some good news. Watch the Carolina Panthers for 5 minutes, and you'll immediately realize that it's not as dire for your team as you thought.

Interesting to read the comments about Tom Brady's debut in the booth. When you are restricted (handcuffed) on your ability to give objective observations due to potential upcoming NFL ownership rules, there's no way you can maximize your on-air skills. Greg Olsen is better.
