As more towns and cities vote to come into compliance, I want to get the facts straight on the MBTA Communities Law.

The overwhelming majority of communities that are required to come into compliance have done the work to do just that.

The momentum and progress are there.

Last night, Andover, Concord and Newbury voted to follow the MBTA Communities Law.

Now 44 of 177 communities required to comply have taken steps to do so - with more on the way.

I applaud these towns, and stand ready to assist others in achieving compliance.

Because of a grant from our office, the PVAC was able to start the Healthy Air Network and take step towards tackling asthma rates in the Greater Springfield area by setting up a neighborhood network of air sensors.
