Bizarre & disappointing news day. Irish environmentalists celebrated after state forestry body Coillte seemed to announce a “mea culpa” over its approach to monoculture, and a plan to only plant native trees.. only for it to be a hoax, it seems rte.ie/news/2024/0318… via RTÉ

Where did this story about Coillte come from and why has it disappeared from the website without explanation?
A lot of people very interested to know!

Whoever was behind this hoax announcement that Coillte would cease planting sitka, etc from 2025, it was a stroke of pure genius.

The attention can only put even more pressure on the current ecocidal forestry model.
