I found this to be pretty shocking.

I failed to replicate a famous finding from 20 years ago, and the paper's editor reprimanded me for even *raising the possibility* that the original authors might have (unknowingly) reported a Type I error.

Wrote a book chapter in late 2022, some actual books arrived this week!
