3/5 Wrapped Bitcoin (wBTC) is the first ERC20 token backed 1:1 with Bitcoin.

It aims to be transparent, verifiable, and community-led.

As such, the process for adding or removing merchants and custodians for wBTC is controlled by a multi-sig contract and the wBTC DAO.

Thanks to Bitcoin assets like wBTC and iBTC, trading volume that would typically only occur on centralized exchanges (CEXs) can now happen on decentralized exchanges (DEXs) too.
