this is an obvious and eye-rolly observation, but like I feel like in my 30s I have a much more acute awareness of all the things I won't do. Like there's so many games I'll never play. So many books I won't read. I think in 20s I didn't have a strong sense of this.

Like there's somebody on here who thinks less of absolutely legendary writers because they wrote short stories. I want you to know that if you're one of those people, regrettably, you're stupid.

Also as a short story write Munro, Saunders, Packer, those people who made it so you had to take stories seriously and not as an appetizer to something else will always have my highest esteem.
