Today I met Saeed, Tahreer and their 6 children in Gaza. Their home was destroyed by Israeli missiles in May 2021. NRC rebuilt it and gave some cash assistance. 'Life is again worth living,' they told us.
Israel's siege on civilians in Gaza and the occupation must end.

This week I am visiting the occupied Palestinian territory and families in Gaza and the West Bank. The Israeli occupation has now lasted for more than half a century. For Palestinians there is simply no respite and no chance for a normal life.

People are fleeing from a new surge of fighting in DR Congo into neighbouring Uganda but the funding to help the 1000s of families remains woefully inadequate. We need donors to step up their funding now so we can help them settle after fleeing from the unthinkable.

Violently denying civilians basic needs like water & electricity is callous and cruel. Targeting vital infrastructure will only accelerate displacement. Bombing must stop and there must be access for our relief to all in need wherever they are this winter

Horrifying: Violent attacks on civilians in West Kordofan and Blue Nile states in Sudan continue. Lives are being lost. Homes burnt to ashes. At least 1,200 people displaced. The protection crisis in Sudan needs a long-term solution or the cycles of horror won’t stop.

NRC has documented how fertile land in Iraq is being decimated by climate change and the ongoing water crisis. If this continues countless farmers will be forced from their land in search of another way to feed their families.
