🌧️4/18 6 AM Radar Update: light to, at times, moderate rainfall will continue to expand through the area this morning. There have been a few lightning strikes reported in southeastern Iowa, but no severe storms are expected with this activity. Be ready for a wet commute!

Temperatures in the lower and middle 30s are forecast tonight through Monday morning. Some areas may even drop into the upper 20s, especially Saturday night. Temperature sensitive vegetation may be damaged. Cover them up or bring them inside to protect them.

Showers are expected today with a chance for some rumbles of thunder south. Upper 40s to mid 50s will be seen NW of a line from Memphis to Freeport, while mid 50s to low 60s will be seen to the SE. Lows will be in the 32-to-39-degree range tonight with some frost possible.

A second tornado from Tuesday's event has been confirmed in Buchanan County, IA near the towns of Quasqueton and Winthrop. We will provide more details on this Thursday as data is compiled and reviewed.

The Tornado Watch has been allowed to expire for most of the area, apart from Bureau and Putnam Counties in IL which will run through 10 PM as the line of storms slowly moves east through that area.
