Beautiful sunrise to start the day in Seattle. Forecast high of 83° today for Seattle might not seem too warm but if it verifies it would be the 7th warmest Sept. 1st in 80 years of records. Cooler Monday & Tuesday, a little warmer Wednesday with 80s again Thursday. #wawx

Good morning, W WA! A few showers and isolated thunderstorms are moving northward across Puget Sound this morning. Chances for isolated storms will be possible through the afternoon hours, however the threat will mainly shift to the Cascades. When thunder roars, go indoors! #wawx

A late season heat wave will impact western WA Wednesday through Friday (highs upper 80s to mid 90s). This will to lead to moderate/major heat risk, and dangerous fire weather conditions. It may be September, but do not let your summer weather safety guards down! #wawx

The weather across Western Washington will feel like summer in the coming days. But the view from the Space Needle early this morning definitively looks like autumn. #wawx

Clear skies and near record high temps expected across WA for Thursday. But exactly 100 years ago, the weather wasn't so quiet. Thunderstorms brought Seattle's trolley system to a standstill according to headlines in the Seattle P.I. Just a little weather history for you. #wawx

90 degrees in September in Seattle? It's not common. In fact, in the past 40 years, it's occurred just 12 times. Between 1991 and 2011, it didn't happen once. Seattle's record for today of 88 set back in 1973 looks likely to be eclipsed. #wawx

Today's weather balloon launch out of Quillayute encountered a temperature of 83° F at an elevation of approx. 1500 ft above sea level... ....at 4:10 A.M. ...in September. That's the kind of air mass we've got above us this morning. It's going to be a toasty one today. #wawx
