Like my dad, the King’s dad, the Prime Minister’s dad, the England football captain’s dad and Churchill’s mum.

‘What is the capital of Peru?’
‘Yeah, but no, but Jeremy Corbyn.’
‘No, it’s Lima. Who wrote The Aeneid?’
‘Jeremy Corbyn.’
‘No, it was Virgil. In what year was the Great Fire of London?’
‘Jeremy Corbyn.’
‘No, 1666. What’s your name?’
‘Jeremy Corbyn.’

Pray silence for the legend that is George Murray. This is the dude who played bass on Golden Years, Ashes To Ashes, Sound & Vision, Heroes, Fashion, and every other Bowie track from 75-80. He’ll be at next year’s David Bowie World Fan Convention in New York. Can’t wait.

To celebrate 100 years of the BBC, @iompostoffice has issued some beautiful commemorative stamps. The set includes Doctor Who, so they’ve asked me to sign a limited edition first day cover and share some cherished memories of my life as a Dalek! Full info: tinyurl.com/4whj7und

Just played 1991’s Red Hot + Blue, surely the finest ever all-star charity album. So many highlights: Erasure, kd lang, Iggy Pop & Debbie Harry, Pogues & Kirsty MacColl… and this extraordinary thing from Tom Waits. Both song and video are mesmerising.

If you’re a Tory MP and you’re now worried about what sacking Suella Braverman would do to Sunak’s authority, I think you need to realise what appointing her in the first place did for his premiership.

The truth about Brexit is the public just don't want it any more.

There has been a surge in support for rejoining the EU over the past year and yet almost nobody in Westminster seems willing to talk about it. bylinetimes.com/2022/11/02/bre…

Does anyone seriously doubt there were appalling scenes in the Lobby?
Does anyone seriously think Hoyle's 'nothing to see here' report makes Chris Bryant a liar?
Does anyone seriously think the Tories braying at him aren't pathetic and desperate?
I stand with Chris Bryant

The exact same people who tried to tell you Truss was a genius, someone who was going to return the Tories to glory, are now telling you Sunak is a genius who, partly by appointing Suella Braverman, will now return the Tories to glory.

Every time Rishi Sunak mentions Jeremy Corbyn like some sort of gotcha, I think a little less of him as both a person and a politician.

One of Sunak’s more entertaining tells is the way his voice gets increasingly high-pitched the more he deflects and dissembles at the dispatch box. He has just passed ‘Bee Gees’ and is now approaching ‘Mickey Mouse’. Much more and he’ll be audible only to dogs.

“I’m pleased we had a record number of new homes built in the last year” - Rishi Sunak

We’ve been trawling over the data for nearly a week, and can’t find anything to substantiate this claim 🧵👇

Just like Johnson and Truss, Sunak continues to subject ministers and MPs to public humiliation with his unforced errors and inevitable u-turns. Tories who have spent the last week sneeringly, loftily and wrongly defending Sunak’s decision not to attend Cop27 now look like fools.
