Thanks. A reminder that the big issue about pesticides is not so much the quantity in use, but their toxicity. Deltamethrine more than TEN THOUSAND times more potent than the DDT that did so much ecological harm decades ago!

Betteshanger update. Dover DC has re screened the applications for a hotel and surf lagoon for Environmental Impact Assessment and concluded its not needed. They have now granted full permission for the surf lagoon. Hotel pending. We are taking legal advice.

Heute möchte ich erzählen warum das Hochwasser an der Maltsch (Grenzfluss zw. OÖ und CZ) vergleichsweise glimpflich ausging: 1) Die Jährlichkeit war nur knapp HQ 30 2) Die Maltsch kann sich noch auf großen Flächen ungehindert ausbreiten wodurch eine große Retention entsteht.
