Our new preprint where we sailed the seven seas of the #Klebsiella pneumoniae species complex 🏴‍☠️ and have charted you an atlas of our travels! We present a population metabolism study of 7835 genomes + metabolic models, in vitro validation and co-cultures. doi.org/10.1101/2024.0…

Key summary: We found lineage-specific substrate specialisation across the population. Co-cultures with different lineages display consistent reciprocal cross-feeding for these substrate breakdown products. In other words, when it comes to Klebsiella, no pirate left behind 🏴‍☠️

This promises to be a key manuscript in the #Klebsiella field. Will read ASAP!
