We welcome the new Australian government’s to engage with the Pacific on equal terms. If Australia is serious about rebuilding trust in the Pacific, it needs to not just talk about climate change; we need action.

Australia has always been a major development partner for the Pacific and is expected to take the lead on climate justice in the region. This means new forms of climate finance, made up of grants to help countries adapt to and deal with emerging impacts of climate change.
