Unless I missed one, the answer for the post-1945 period is Laurier-Sainte-Marie in 1990 when PC got 4.5% and Gilles Duceppe dominated (first by-election following Meech Lake). This excludes by-elections when the govt didn't run a candidate.

My brother has stood up to bullies his whole life, and we all know bullies fold when someone stands up to them. People forget he’s trained in MMA for years—he’s not afraid of these far-right cowards. It’s time we all stand up to them.

+1 to Steve. The inquiry is tabling public documents during hearings, showing portions only on screen, but then refusing to make those records available to media so we can report on entirety of the document. Instead, without consultation, it decided to withhold the docs for hours

The right to self defense is guaranteed in the UN Charter. If Putin doesn’t want Ukraine to defend itself, he should have not invaded Ukraine. (And the Charter doesn’t say you can only use you own weapons for self defense!)

especially on humanitarian grounds. But harnessing that potential in a democracy requires public support in populations that feel the distributional tradeoffs. The political economy matters a lot. We lost sight of that w/ carbon tax. Let's not do it with immigration. 3/3
