Data definitely resonate with us in ID/GI, who all see people after GI illness (esp post travel) with persistent symptoms, convinced they have an ongoing infection. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. Challenging problem! Microbiome issue? doi.org/10.1136/gutjnl…
