First we reduced catalyst loading and moved to a safer surrogate of acetaldehyde, then we switched to water as a solvent using DoE; we have now been able to run the reaction in water with cheaper catalyst thanks to micelles! Open access on Chemistry at Thieme thieme-connect.com/products/ejour…
