Farewell to my first lab member Ching-Yi Huang who has helped a lot in establishing my research IPMB Academia Sinica (中研院植微所). He is going to join plantevolution.bsky.social 🌱 lab as a PhD student soon. It's too warm in Taiwan that my "Running Jimi" chocolate cake topping fall apart during transport.

Gene Myers just released super fast whole genome aligner github.com/thegenemyers/F…. He and Chenxi Zhou and I have lots of ideas for downstream use.
We constructed a pangenome graph with #pggb Erik Garrison to crawl along the regions of the genomes where NLRs or pieces of NLRs are found at least in 1 accession UNTIL we found common (syntenic) anchors bordering those regions in all the accessions --> "NLR neighborhood"
