This quote does not currently appear in the online NYT story and there is no note indicating the article was amended. Can someone at NYT Politics confirm? nytimes.com/2024/07/25/us/…

Strong Tim Kaine vibes from this pick. Solid governing partner material but will have no impact on voter choice (as opposed to a best case scenario “minimal bump” with some of the others). You social media bubble people are not who the Harris campaign needs to win this election.

A loss. Did a lot of polling interviews over the years but the most memorable spot was when I happened to be across from a historic synagogue as it caught fire. A WCBS producer I knew saw my Twitter post and got me on air to give a live update. My first reporting gig!

I knew I "made it" when Michael first interviewed me. Among my memories are his standup reports for big governor speeches from the Assembly chamber balcony . He wouldn't read the embargoed text beforehand because he wanted to hear the speech fresh along with the live audience.

The answer to Ari Melber’s question of what history tells us about getting this kind of campaign off the ground in so short a time is: “pretty much nothing.” That’s what makes it interesting. You’d think Douglas Brinkley would have known that.

Sen. Warnock is obviously a very good speaker. But I didn’t pay any attention to him b/c of the overlong wait for President Biden. DNC “organizers”: Cutting/rescheduling speakers is acceptable.

As a native New Jerseyan, I apologize for the inappropriate song choice. We all know the unofficial state anthem is Born To Run. I can only assume someone who didn’t know better got the titles mixed up.

I’d hire this guy as a poll interviewer. Sticks to the question wording, acknowledges the response without emotional affect, moves onto the next question without encouraging additional conversation outside of the survey format. Very solid.

PSA: We do not actually know what the polling impact of the Kennedy announcement is on polling until we see polls since the announcement. Retrospective re-allocating is hypothetical. Not saying those projections might not be right. Just that it’s a guess until we get new polls.

Headlines! More evidence of the media bubble, breathlessly overstating a news event's impact (at least as far as the electorate is concerned) to drive clicks. Nothing has been "rocked" or "reshaped" and the "challenges" are equally "opportunities."
