One of the best big men we saw on Sunday was Jack Clarke. The Lakeridge rising senior continues to emerge as a force inside as he did a great job establishing post position or getting to spots where he could convert the entry pass to an easy bucket. Great work rebounding too.
Loved the way that Kai Russell passed the ball up the floor today. The Westview Basketball point guard made it happen in transition, finding shooters in the corner while also getting some of his own buckets finishing around bigger players. Big plays in the 17U title game.
Totally catching 🔥 in the second half of the 17U title game was Patrick Kilfoil. The Jesuit guard was draining threes from the corner, hitting pull-ups, and scoring on the break - in total 17 of his 22 points as Players Only won the West Coast Elite Basketball Portland Spring Preview.
It may not necessarily be flashy but Walt Rosenberg gets it done. The McMinnville big man provided a real presence in the post for More Than Hoops, effectively using his body to establish position down low for a number of scores and he sucked up defensive rebounds like a vacuum.
Keep your eye on warren stanton. Big time performance today at the West Coast Elite Basketball Portland Spring Preview as the West Linn swingman effectively used his length to make plays on both ends, getting buckets around the hoop and tons of deflections on D. Dished out some cool dimes too.
Huge plays down the stretch by Keenan Reckamp in the semis of the West Coast Elite Basketball Portland Spring Preview. The Skyhawk Basketball guard drew a critical charge on D and then came back and scored the go-ahead bucket on a drive with 5 seconds left to propel Players Only to the title game.
16U drops a close one to PNW Sixers, 64-56. Matthew Tompkins (Summit) had 19 in the loss along with 4 assists. Foster Kettering had 16 with 3 assists. Chace Nichols (Trinity) had 5 steals and Bryce Lowenbach (Crook County) had 8 boards.
17U moves to 3-1 in West Coast Elite Spring Showcase with 54-45 win over Uptown. Andrew Imhoff (Trinity) had 14, Brady Muilenburg (Ridgeview) had 12 and 5 boards, 3 assists. Rowan Blossey (Summit) had 11 points, 6 boards, 4 assists, and 4 blocks Prep Hoops Oregon
Tough bracket loss but some big moments for CC Rams Basketball big man Ryder Zanon. He set up strong in the post commanding double teams and when he wasn’t finishing with a soft touch he was absorbing all sorts of contact and getting to the line. Impressive playing up vs 17U.
Looking to step into a bigger role next season with Summit High Hoops will be Ryder Grieb. The rising senior has good size at 6-foot-5, a nice touch around the hoop, and he can also step outside and knock down the 3. Almost 20 points in a Boss Basketball win.
16U picks up an early morning 48-29 win over Uptown Select. Matthew Tompkins (Summit) had 14 pts, followed by Max Faulkner (Bend) with 12. Bryce Lowenbach (Crook County) had 6 pts, 6 rbs, a block and assist. Prep Hoops Oregon
He may be a bit hidden at the 1A level but there’s no question that Andrew Imhoff can play. The 6-foot-4 rising senior from Trinity Lutheran has good length, the ability to score inside and out, and a good feel for the game. Solid performance this morning for Boss Basketball.
17U explodes for a 84-33 win at the West Coast Elite Spring Preview. Brady Muilenburg (Ridgeview) had 25 pts and 6 rbs. Ryder Grieb (Summit) had 18pts, 7 rbs. Andrew Imhoff (Trinity) with 17 pts, 8 rbs. Landen Scott (Sisters) had 11 pts, 7 rbs Prep Hoops Oregon
Making it look easy this morning was Brady Muilenburg. The lanky senior forward was dropping 3s, getting to the hoop for layups, and threw down a power jam on the break for good measure. At least 30 points in a Boss Basketball win at the West Coast Elite Basketball Portland Spring Preview.
