Gabriola tonight. (Not retouched, but whatever my iphone does to take photos at night did make the colours brighter.)

Sue from Langley now speaking. She’s had ME for many years. Reflecting that those here today are often isolated and invisible. Many will go home to bed (maybe for days), but they’re here now, asking the BC government to see them, to support them.

Digging into yesterday's release of the national 2022 greenhouse gas data. Looking at the provincial data: I note that, while national GHGs in 2022 were below pre-pandemic 2019 levels (good news), BC's GHGs in 2022 of 64.2mt were a bit higher than the 64mt in 2019 (not good news)

Story reports CNRL's president saying 'climate policy is key to lowering emissions, but [he] stressed it must also work for industry.' Uh, no. The fossil fuel industry is the cause of climate change. Policies that work for them don't work for humankind.

New University of British Columbia study adds to the many others proving e-bike rebates are amazing. On a per-dollar basis they reduce carbon emissions more than EV rebates. news.ubc.ca/2024/04/30/e-b…
