It appears copilot (MSFT AI) is being integrating into Office apps. Now most folks can’t avoid using “generative AI” in some fashion. Academic journals need to rework and clarify their AI disclosure policies.

The new crop of AI policies at academic journals are half baked. The requirements seem vague, onerous, or otherwise ostracize the use of AI in research (which seems regressive). The only requirements that make sense relate to author responsibility for work performed by AI.
