Integrating NHS and JCP could be a massive opportunity to provide proper support to disabled people. The goal should not be getting people into work it should be ensuring people get to live a decent life.

We now have a clear indication of where things are at with this government and the benefits system. Political not practical. An approach we have suffered from for at least 20 years. The direction of travel will not change without a herculean effort.

The mighty GMWRAG putting out the good word on using the Equality Act to challenge the DWP. Although talk of pastries at meetings makes me fear they have lost touch with their roots and gone soft.

10 out of 10 cannot wait to see how this goes. Massively intrigued by who the barrister providing the advice is. I sense the deft touch of Michael Mouse KC. theguardian.com/uk-news/articl…

Bad but not unexpected news. The lack of proper support to assist people on to UC will adversely impact disabled people in particular. Support in the community that was previously relied upon at times like this is now almost non-existent.

Welcome news from government. As part of any investment in travel infrastructure we need to see barriers dismantled and accessibility embedded for everyone. theguardian.com/politics/artic…

I would strongly encourage anyone and everyone with an interest in justice and humanity to read this by Disability News Service. I have witnessed what he reports. The DWP must be held to account.

This looks really good. Any people interested in getting involved in environmental campaigns in the NW should attend if they can.

14 years since the Equality Act. Due to lack of effective enforcement disabled people are routinely enduring the foulest discrimination. It is not even shocking any more.

My watch list for ManchesterPsychFest is already full of clashes. Properly killer line up. Best festival going. Great bands and good vibes all through town.

The state will always be authoritarian, particularly when it comes to protest. This decision does not augur well for those of us keen on justice and liberty.

Seeking Trainee Solicitor to assist in our conveyancing department. Have you passed the LPC and working as a paralegal? The training contract carrot 🥕 dangled hasn't turned into a contract? We are in Oldham, Greater Manchester. Apply [email protected]

Get your legal career going here. I did a seat in conveyancing and it did me no harm at all. If you want to develop client care skills there are few better seats.

A really excellent result in the Supreme Court on fire and rehire today. Congrats to Stuart Brittenden KC and all the Tesco workers. Contracts do have consequences...

University VC's are cutting courses and staffing without sufficient regard for the impact on students. Obviously the excellent Goldsmiths UCU are doing their bit to ensure students, from undergrad to PhD, get what they paid for.
