A fun Kurt Boggs and Leland deleted scene. As with most #Evil deleted scenes this was cut for momentum. Love Kurt and Michael.

For a project, I’ve been rewatching the first season of #TheSopranos and it’s exhilarating how fast the episodes are. It makes you realize how much contemporary streaming is padded; shows trading in plot for vibes. The pursuit of 8-hour-movies has made streaming deathly dull.

It’s worth seeing the directors cut of #Napoleon on Apple+. 48 minutes have been added back, and they are sort of essential. The theatrical version was cut too close to the bone. Take a look. Some stunning visuals.

A great quote from the New Yorker about “Why AI isn’t Going to Make Art”: “The programmer Simon Willison has described the training for large language models as “money laundering for copyrighted data…” That’s one to write down: money laundering for copyrighted data.

#EnglishTeacherFX. Very funny. Moves fast—without feeling too pushy. Best executed overlapping dialogue I’ve heard in a while. Satirizes changes in our identity and victim-obsessed culture. But lands real jokes. I think you’ll like it.

Given the odd WWII debate of the last few days, can I recommend one book about WWII—one of the best history books I’ve ever read: THE RISE AND FALL OF THE THIRD REICH by William Shirer. It’s hard to write a book that is so comprehensive and yet so readable.

I have been told to stop stealing muffins from the bakery. Unfortunately, it’s the only way to keep my lucrative muffin stand in business. Everyone is fine with this.

An excellent and thoughtful piece from Jonah Goldberg about what the hell Mr. Carlson is up to. thedispatch.com/newsletter/gfi…
