2nd year Law students have taken over the classroom! Students were charged w/ researching a historic criminal case & the legal outcomes. They put together lessons that taught the class the importance of the case & how it has impacted the practices that Law Enforcement use today.

We were excited to surprise Dr. Erin Rowland, Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Instructor, with the Herndon Career Center/Southland CAPS Teacher of the Year award for the 23-24 school year. Congratulations, Erin! We are so proud to have you as a part of the HCC team!

This week Herndon Career Center & Southland CAPS are excited to be participating in the SOUPer Bowl Drive to benefit Raytown Emergency Assistance Program. For every 2 canned good items donated, students will get to pick a Chiefs sticker created by our Graphic Design program.

If you are joining us for our Open House event this evening, bring in canned goods to donate to our SOUPer Bowl Can Drive! Every two cans donated, you get to pick one of the stickers created by our Advertising Arts and Graphic Design program! Can drop off will be in Building A.

Congratulations to our HCC Culinary Competition team! On Friday, February 9, the team placed 1st out of sixteen teams in the Johnson County Community College High School Culinary Competition.

The HCC & Southland CAPS Awards Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 8 at Raytown High School. Students who will be honored at the ceremony have been mailed an invitation to their home. Due to capacity there will be 2 different ceremonies. See breakdown below.
