One of the things I didn't realise would happen when i moved to specialise in clinical neg work was how angry I would be as clients tell me their stories. Lack of care. Lack of communication. Lack of thought. Lack of ... stopping to think before something is done.

Heartbreaking talk from Clare Bowen of CHFG at the SCIL training yesterday. Even now I'm still trying to get my head round why the clinical staff didn't stop at any point to consider what the impact of their actions could be.

It's been a rough old day today, as 2 October always is. Felt safe enough to tell someone at work I was having a tough day and got understanding, support and warmth back. Made the rest of the day so much easier to bear.

I know parkrun isn't a race but I beat the lady pushing her dog in the buggy today for the first time and I am WELL pleased.

I've been a bit frustrated with my studying recently and this is a good reminder of how hard I've worked and how close I am to finishing. I have to remind myself this is degree level - something I was told I wouldn't be able to do. This is me. Doing it.
