Just absurd there might still be a rebellion on the Renters Reform Bill given the government have given the landlords just about everything they wanted. My comment in this Vicky Spratt story 👇

The Renters (Reform) Bill is back next week - but in its current form the bill is 'little cause for celebration', our campaign manager Tom Darling says. We'll be fighting for a Bill that delivers for renters. standard.co.uk/business/money…

Almost 1 million private renters have been served a S21 'no-fault' eviction since the Government promised to abolish them five years ago.

That is 500 renters feeling the pain of repeated delays and broken commitments every day.

Great work by RRC partner 38 Degrees - showing overwhelming majorities of the public back more rights for renters, and would see an indefinite delay to ending no-fault evictions as the government breaking its promise. Will the government listen?

Our Campaign Officer Rosie Dutch has written a blog on the rollercoaster of a campaign to deliver proper rental reform.

Receptions, petitions, rallies and more have helped keep the agenda alive, but in truth the fight is only just getting started now:

Since the government's pledge to abolish section 21, more than 84,000 households have faced homelessness due to these evictions. We need action fast - but the Bill must deliver real change for renters, not preserve this terrible status quo news.sky.com/story/longer-t…

Could you help us by being a voice for renters?

As the Renters (Reform) Bill continues through parliament this year, we'll be looking to put journalists in touch with renters who can talk about their experiences.

In Blackpool 1 in 4 rented homes has damp and mould that poses a serious threat to health.
This is a disgrace - and yet legislation to empower tenants is getting weaker. We need a strong Bill and funding for enforcement.

Our Campaign Manager Tom Darling explaining to TalkTV Jake Berry MP last week why the Government's 'regrettable' concession to landlords to lock tenants into leases for 6 months will lead to renters being trapped in dangerous or falsely advertised homes.

.Alexa Phillips reports that the MPs pushing pro-landlord changes to the Renters (Reform) Bill received almost half a million £ in donations or earnings linked to landlords since the last election - this is what renters are up against.

“Tenants are afraid of challenging a rent increase or asking their landlord to meet certain standards' - our Campaign Manager Tom Darling quoted in The Times and The Sunday Times on the state of renting.
We won't have affordability until we address this core imbalance. thetimes.co.uk/article/rent-u…
