A half mouse brain can be roughly scanned around 1 min with full-FOV mode; Fine-axial mode provides almost isotropic volume image for nuclear-size objects.

We demonstrated several advanced use of the system in neuroscience and drug discovery; descSPIM supports whole mouse brain imaging & whole tumor-mass drug distributions.

Interestingly, the drug distribution was heterogeneous across the tumor mass, which could be quantitatively analyzed across the whole 3D mass. A possible new drug target??

As a community-driven project, descSPIM has already been disseminated among users worldwide, supporting multiple 3D imaging purposes!! nature.com/articles/s4146…
