Reports that the PM plans to water down an already weak proposal for a Federal EPA continues this govt's complete lack of courage. A total betrayal of the people and places we love. There is a path to get this through the senate in a better form that actually protects Nature.

Extreme heat over much of Australia this past week. Maximum temperatures have been 8-10°C above average in coastal NSW where I live. If this is winter, then what will summer bring? Winter conditions like these will be considered 'mild' in the future.

Deeply disappointing to hear Anthony Albanese eyeing off a deal to water water down the governments' proposed EPA. We need trust and independence in decision making. See more: Environment watchdog powers may be weakened to pass parliament, Albanese says theguardian.com/australia-news…

Govt talks about biodiversity & zero extinction targets but delays action & threatens to weaken EPA’s powers. Our environment needs a tough cop to protect it & the full package of reforms legislated with urgency #auspol theguardian.com/australia-news…

Australians want a government with the guts to take on the urgent reforms we need. That means protecting the people and places we love. Instead they want to work with the Coalition to water down a weak environmental regulator. Not good enough. abc.net.au/listen/program…

A government weakening vital environmental protections in order to secure support from a Coalition which habitually denies the reality of climate change … is a government which has lost its way.

🚨Today in Federal Parliament, Labor & the Coalition have blocked a bill to end native forest logging — instead voting to continue killing wildlife & damaging our climate. The majority of Australians want it to end — the only thing standing in the way is political will. #auspol
