If you get caught speeding in a company vehicle, you'll still be prosecuted even if you were 'just doing your job'. It's your driving licence and future prospects on the line if you get penalty points or a ban. Please drive responsibly, considerately and within the speed limit.

It is important to always be kitted out correctly with the right clothing and equipment, whatever bike you ride, and even if you’re only riding a short distance.

When a School Crossing Patrol is in the carriageway, displaying the sign in the upright position, all traffic must stop. Drivers must remain stationary until pedestrians have finished crossing and the School Crossing Patrol has returned to the pavement. youtu.be/kizaQfqIoS0

In wet weather, please leave double the distance you normally would from vehicles in front. Because your tyres have less grip on the road, it could take twice as long to stop in an emergency.

It is not possible to say how much alcohol you can drink and stay below the limit. You could be imprisoned, banned from driving and face a fine if you’re found guilty of drink-driving. Avoid alcohol altogether if you intend to drive. #NoneForTheRoad

When a School Crossing Patrol displays the STOP sign, motorists must STOP! After people have crossed the road, you must not move off until the School Crossing Patrol has returned to the pavement. Please stop every time – you'd expect others to do so if your was child crossing.

We want to say a big thank you to our emergency services, as well as all those who go on to look after us in the NHS. These heroes work tirelessly to keep us safe on the roads, regularly risking their own lives, and they often don't get the credit they deserve. #999Day

The first thing you do in a motorcycle crash is put your hands out to protect yourself – it’s just instinctive. A decent pair of gloves is essential all year round. They will protect your hands from cold, wet weather and from injury if you do come off.

In the interests of reduced traffic, improved air quality and increased active travel to school, School Streets are closed roads during school drop-off and pick-up times.

If an employee is late for work due to travel delays, please be kind and sympathetic and don’t force them to take unnecessary risks. When in work, these people probably go the extra mile and volunteer to stay late or take extra shifts, so remember it works both ways! Thank you.
