A wonderful #2024townhall today here in Grants Pass thanks to the students at South Middle School & the adults in Josephine County who both asked great questions about wildfires, school safety, homelessness, rural broadband, health care, Social Security & more.

So impressed by the new urgent care clinic for La Clinica that I saw today in Medford and how the staff put to such good use the federal investment Senator Jeff Merkley and I worked to secure. This adds up to a prescription for better health for Oregonians here in the Rogue Valley.

With City of Medford Mayor Randy Sparacino & The American Postal Workers Union - APWU today in southern Oregon calling on an end to Postmaster General DeJoy’s mail consolidation folly. This scheme is causing needless & harmful delays here to basic mail service here & statewide.

Can’t stop thinking today about the passing of my friend Bill Walton and hoping a statue of him will soon be in the works outside the Moda Center so he can always be remembered appropriately in #RipCity .

Southern Oregon showed again the importance of #MemorialDay with today’s sacred & special remembrance here at Eagle Point National Cemetery. We can never forget the fallen heroes who gave all of us as Americans the freedoms to worship freely, gather peaceably & speak openly.

Bill Walton brought #RipCity our greatest on-the-court thrills by leading the Trail Blazers on a magical run to the title in 1977. And for decades after his playing days, he brought an entire nation his good nature on life and basketball. I will miss my friend Bill dearly.

Congrats to Oregon State Baseball for earning the nod to host an NCAA Baseball regional. Great to see the Beavers’ #RoadToOmaha begins in Corvallis. #GoBeavs

Enjoyed catching up with my friend Jenny Nguyen last night at her The Sports Bra and meeting all the patrons packing the place to watch NCAA Softball & the WNBA. So great to see so many Oregonians supporting women’s sports here in Portland.

Nourished the taste buds yesterday in NE Portland at HelenBernhardBakery — which is marking its 100th anniversary.
And then nourished the mind across the street by buying books at Broadway Books, a great independent bookstore. Both small businesses are mainstays in the community.
