In June 2019, a five bench judge at the High Court of Kenya, delivered a groundbreaking that reinstated the standards and guidelines to reducing maternal mortality resulting from unsafe abortion.

The case challenged the arbitrary withdrawal of the standards and guidelines in 2013 by the ministry of health including fighting for constitutional right of sexual survivors to access safe and life saving SRHR services.
