An interesting finding from national R&D survey year 2022/23 was increase in foreign funding to >Frw 33 billions almost 1/4 of total funding.

National R&D report 2022/23: Impressive increase in R&D/research expenditure from >frw 70 to >Frw 129 billions, also increase in R&D as a percentage of national GDP from 0.69 in 2019 to 0.79 in 2023; however more private sector funding for R&D is required to grow

The 2022/2023 R&D Survey reveals significant progress: GERD has increased to 0.79% of GDP. However, more effort is needed to reach our 2050 target of 3%. Together, we can boost R&D funding, business innovation, and human capital. Onwards and upwards! 💡
