Good to be in Cardiff to represent Scottish Human Rights Commission at the Annual Conference of the UK NPM, bringing inspectorate bodies & regulators of all places of detention across the UK to focus on the delivery of the UN Protocol on the prevention of inhuman, degrading treatment and torture
We share the concerns of Council of Europe UN Human Rights after the UK Parliament passed the Safety of Rwanda (Asylum and Immigration) Bill. As Scotland’s #NHRI we’ll continue to monitor the #RuleOfLaw implications & advocate for a fair, dignified support system for those seeking protection.
1 week to the UK NPM Annual Conference!
We will be in #Cardiff to discuss the year's updates & priorities, hearing from Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) & Healthcare Inspectorate Wales about the NPM in #Wales
Plus a brilliant panel to reflect on culture in detention
