Happy #VolunteerRecognitionDay ! The Seaport Museum wouldn’t be the same without the incredible work done by dedicated volunteers. A few days ago we held the first Volunteer Appreciation Awards Party since 2019 and feel deeply energized and inspired by so many of you.
#OnThisDay in 1907 #EllisIsland processed 11,747 individuals making this the busiest day in Ellis Island’s history. The linguistic and cultural diversity of the processing station helped ease new arrivals on their first day in America.

Today we remember all who died #OTD in 1912 when RMS #Titanic sank into the Atlantic Ocean. One year later, the Titanic Memorial Lighthouse was erected by public subscription 240 ft above sea level on the Seamen's Church Institute roof.
