Today, a New York court overturned Harvey Weinstein’s conviction from a pivotal case in the #MeToo movement.

This is an affront to survivors of sexual assault. I stand unequivocally with survivors.

Today, the #CASenate adopted #SR89 to recognize Wednesday, April 24th as #DenimDay . My colleagues, staff, and I wore denim to send a message of support to survivors of sexual assault and make it clear that there is no excuse for sexual assault or rape.

We won’t stand by while states like Arizona attack our #ReproductiveRights .

I’m proud to co-author #SB233 so AZ doctors can provide #abortion care to AZ patients who are forced travel to CA because AZ’s draconian #AbortionBan has stripped them of their right to access abortion.

I was saddened to hear of Delaine Eastin’s passing. She was the first woman to be elected State Schools Superintendent and the fifth woman to be elected to statewide office in CA. She was an advocate for public education and she led efforts to empower women to seek office.
