Shaun Lintern My wife is currently in hospital in a specialist ward.
She needs a procedure done which will take about 15 minutes. Once this is done, she can come home.
Waiting since Thursday because the department which does it are short staffed.
It's difficult to quantify the overall costs.

Increasing pay costs when activity levels remain the same - why?

- breakdown of social contract/ bank of goodwill (discretionary effort) empty?
- collapse of social care (cannot be over estimated/ exaggerated)
- complexity/ acuity?
- staff less experienced?

Your thoughts?
