Everyone is on Team Mokogodo! From sunup to sundown, this little elephant is flanked by her adoring nannies & Keepers. On this evening, Mishak was on Mokogodo duty. He bunks in her stable, providing her with milk feeds & company throughout the night!

Little rhino Chamboi adores scratches behind his ears, which send him in a state of bliss. Special touches & creature comforts like this ensure he feels safe, loved & flourishes in our care. (Chamboi was found all alone as a newborn & needed rescuing): sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/orphans/chamboi
Toto has defied the odds & is racing towards a bright, wild future. His story is one for the books & has to be read to be believed: this diminutive calf, reminiscent of a woolly mammoth, was hand-delivered into our care by a herd of elephants! sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/orphans/toto
Enkesha nearly severed her trunk in a snare before her rescue. It left lasting damage but, incredibly, she has full use of it to forage. Her unique trunk marks her out as different but her orphan family have never cared & accepted her without hesitation. sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/orphans/enkesha
#Throwback to Shujaa trying his luck & attempting a milk heist. This may have taken place 19 months ago, but this cheeky champ remains as spunky as ever – recent shenanigans include chasing impala & a family of warthogs! His rescue story began in 2022: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/orphans/shujaa
Ashanti may be short on trunk, but she can still splash with the best of them! She lost the bottom half of her trunk to a poacher’s snare but, incredibly, she has adjusted marvellously & has no issues drinking, eating, foraging, and having fun. Her story:

Post-veterinary operation, this bull is back with his big friends. The intervention to treat his injuries – likely incurred in an encounter with another ele over mating rights – took place last week. We shared some incredible pics from the scene: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/news/updates/h…
2023 was a year of extremes. Our staff grappled with a devastating drought, & the influx of orphans that needed care as a direct result. Pardamat was one tiny baby who found a home with us. Meet more 2023 rescues in our new Annual Newsletter: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/news/annual-ne…
