🧬 As creatures move through their environment, they shed DNA through skin cells, waste products, and other body fluids. This eDNA provides a snapshot of an ecosystem's intricacies without disturbing the environment. Last week SimplexDNA 🧬🌍 deployed this tech during the #XPrize .

#eDNA samples were collected from air, water and surfaces nearly continuous for the 24 hours!! Metabarcoding on site had species detections before the 24 hours was even up! We just demonstrated it is possible to rapidly survey a rainforest in less than 24 hours with 🧬🤯!

Scouting and planning we are!! OpenAI #chatGPT told us that this is like we are competing in the Olympics for #biodiversity !
