A tip for politicians & senior govt leaders that I don't expect them to follow: don't make public comments about decisions made by judges like bail, acquitting, sentencing etc or otherwise interfere in independence of justice system. You may be compelled to apologize someday

In the mid-1960s, I dropped a Juicy Fruit wrapper on the sidewalk on the way back to school after lunch (and The Flintstones). A neighbour witnessed my transgression. The wrapper and a stern lecture about littering and embarrassing the family awaited me later that day.

Basketball's a great game and the start of the NBA playoffs will excite many Canadians. But it seems odd that Google's Doodle choice for Canada today would celebrate the start of the NBA playoffs when the NHL playoffs also start today ... with four Canadian teams in the mix.

Why on Earth do people do that?
If you've gone to the trouble/minor inconvenience of bagging your dog's poo, why would you not just follow through and dispose of the bag properly?
And why is litter not a 365-day-a-year concern? Decades ago, Toronto was a famously clean city.

I don't know if the '30 years' reference is just a typo. Stores in TTC stations may have been there since the subway opened in 1954. I know for fact Garfield news stands and other stores (including Laura Secord in this photo) were in the TTC subway more than 60 years ago.
