Measure HLA update: 6 months after voters approved HLA, the city plans to add 450-ft-long new HLA bike lanes in Tarzana... but city repaved parts of Vermont Ave in South L.A. and ignored HLA required improvements la.streetsblog.org/2024/09/05/mea…

City's Measure HLA evasion has Schrödinger paradox quality, feels like: - when city resurfaces service road, no ped upgrades cuz it's not main road - when city resurfaces main road, no ped upgrades cuz no one walks in main road itself Oops, peds killed in scary high numbers

Kevin Good 🇧🇷 📽️ StreetsblogLA And yet it took many inches from existing overly wide car lanes to create these lanes. Vehicular cyclists said the same as you in the 70s and 80s and effectively halted all progress on quality infrastructure. Where is the data to prove painted bike lanes are the boogeyman?

Today’s announcement that the East SFV Light Rail has been fully funded is incredibly welcome news and a huge milestone for the project and the more than 35,000 daily riders it will serve. This line is going to be a game-changer for the Valley and for generations to come 🚆 🙌

Metrolink will consider testing a new fare structure from January 2025 to June 2025. They will offer a $15 systemwide day pass and a $5 day pass for service in the LA urban zone. Monthly pass prices will also be cheaper. d2kbkoa27fdvtw.cloudfront.net/metrolink/8c38…

I ride my bike on this stretch of Jefferson a lot. It is by far one of the scariest sections of a major bike thoroughfare between the Westside and DTLA. It seems like it could be reconfigured to move both bike lanes to the south side with protection and bus stop platforms.
