Each year, we look forward to welcoming our scholars to the classroom. It’s such an exciting time and filled with joy. Take a look at some highlights from the first week of school & make sure you’re following along to see all of the amazing things they accomplish this 23-24’ SY.

Did you know that we host dozens of Summer Experience Programs each year for our scholars to participate in over their break? Check out some highlights from the visual arts focused experience at Sotheby’s where our scholars got to decorate their very own pair of Nike sneakers.

This week, El-Hadji became the 3rd player in SA Soccer program history to sign with an MLS Academy and the first to join NYC FC. His signing continues to showcase the quality of players that the program can produce and we cannot wait to see El-Hadji thrive at the next level.

SA seniors have college on the brain! This week, they've been prepping college apps as they start to select (and apply to!) their dream universities. It may be their last year at SA, but it's just the beginning for them!

Many thanks to our Senior Leaders, teachers, and school & network staff that make back to school such an incredible experience. We can’t wait for the rest of the scholars to join us this week and officially kick off the 23-24 school year.

This is my 18th year welcoming scholars on the first day of school. Every year I look forward to the joyful reunions, the new families joining our supportive community, and the eagerness and excitement to learn.

At SA we want all of our scholars to feel supported and safe, which is why we’re proud to offer these services to our scholars in collaboration with UWill.

Did you know that in addition to our extensive training for new hires, we also host team building events that introduce our new employees to each other and current staff, NYC life and so much more?

We can’t help but reminisce on this year's commencement. The class of 2027 included 119 scholars who will be heading to 62 different colleges and universities in 13 states this fall!

Congratulations to SA alum Jayden Jenkins (HSLA - Manhattan, Class of 2020). He has been named a Colgate University Track & Field team captain for the 2023-2024 season. Former captain of the SA varsity Track & Field team, his dedication to running began in the 8th grade #insidesuccess

Yesterday at Leader Training Institute we focused on our vision and standard for great instruction in each subject. In math, we are working to center reasoning—NOT mere calculation—so today everyone is wearing a t-shirt to stress the point!

Brianna Edwards & Tasnim Moumouni have both completed pre-medicine courses & college-level neurology classes during their time at Success Academy High School of the Liberal Arts. #STEM

Eric Tai was recently named player of the month on his U15 Red Bulls team and in June, the team became the 2023 U15 MLS Next Champions - making him the first MLS Cup Champion in SA Soccer Program history! Check out his journey to success here: ow.ly/hTlv50P8X7O

Jada B. began as a kdg. scholar at SAWB in 2018 + is now getting ready to make her way to SA LAMS for 5th grade! Jada’s mother told us that 'the curriculum got harder as she progressed through the grades, but the teachers were always there to provide guidance and support.' #Tbt

Beginning in elementary school, all scholars participate in monthly field studies. Field studies give scholars the opportunity to experience what they’re learning in the classroom, out in the real world! Check out a recent field studies trip Bronx4 scholars took to the Bronx Zoo!

Over 400 second-grade scholars and their families had the opportunity to travel with our SA Soccer Program to Yankee Stadium to watch New York City FC take on the New England Revolution. Eight of our U16 Boys players went on the field, operating as ball kids for the game!

Congrats to our Kindergarteners who will be rising up to 1st grade in the fall! We can't wait to see you grow as you continue to take on even more science experiments, explore through field studies & learn even more about yourselves & the subjects you’ve already begun to master.
