Today, during National Farmworker Awareness Week, Governor Youngkin vetoed HB 157, a bill that would have extended long-overdue minimum wage protections to Virginia's farmworkers and migrant workers on temporary visas.

My bill to finally include farmworkers in the VA Minimum Wage Act passed the General Assembly for the first time in VA history. HB157 represents a step toward erasing the troubling legacy of Jim Crow from state law while supporting essential workers who put food on our tables.

I presented my first bill, HB157, on the Floor of the House of Delegates this week, and I'm proud to report that it passed by a vote of 50-49.
