This evil-looking straight-edged razor was removed from a traveler's carry-on bag by a TSA officer at Binghamton Airport recently. Please pack your wicked knives in a checked bag.

Can you bring a smoke bomb firework in your carry-on bag? Um, that would be a big fat NO! This one was removed from a traveler's carry-on bag yesterday at Albany Airport.

The TSA team at Reagan Airport detected this unusual knife (knives) at the security checkpoint recently. It might appear to be just another coin, but in reality, the coin just disguises the true nature of the item. Knives of any size are prohibited through security checkpoints.

Unfortunately it is a common mistake for travelers to bring brass knuckles to TSA security checkpoints. Here are a few examples of knuckles detected by TSA officers recently at ⁦Reagan Airport⁩.

Typically knives are spotted in an X-ray unit at TSA checkpoints. But yesterday when a man went through the advanced imaging technology scanner at Newark Liberty International Airport, it triggered an alarm in the area of his waist and this spring-loaded knife was detected via the resulting pat-down.

A TSA officer at Syracuse Airport detected a knife concealed in the buckle of a traveler's belt on Friday. It's a good example of why travelers are required to remove belts to be scanned through the checkpoint X-ray machine.

The TSA team at Newark Liberty International Airport detected this knife that was artfully concealed beneath the lining of a woman's suitcase, where it was glued to the inside 'wall' of the roller bag. It's a good example of why an X-ray unit is a valuable piece of security technology.

.TSA at LaGuardia Airport stopped a man with these brass knuckles in his carry-on bag today. Brass knuckles are illegal in NYC, so police arrested him. This is why it is important to know the laws of the jurisdictions you are flying to--so you don't make these types of mistakes.

Police arrested the traveler who had this loaded handgun among his carry-on items at the TSA security checkpoint yesterday at Westchester County Airport. Own a firearm? Don't let this happen to you! Do not bring your gun to an airport security checkpoint!
