Today was a learning day. My favourite type of day. Thanks to Professor Anna Stec from University of Central Lancashire and Wayne Anderson from Fire Brigades Union FBU@Reg3 North East for such an enlightening and informative Decontamination seminar. These were some of the Ffs on the ground that day responding. Heroes every one of them. Confident, stoic heroes.
Today marks the start of #NationalInclusionWeek and looks at the Power of Identity.
When asked what I did, I replied with my career. Then my son joined the conversation and pointed out all the other things I did as well.
It’s a great reminder that we are all many things.
It was a pleasure & privilege to carry out the master of ceremonies at our latest LSGC Medal & awards event. Thanks to our High Sherriff High Sheriff of Tyne & Wear for his support & for presenting the recipients. A real family event, thank you & well done to everyone recognised. A few weeks ago a had the honour of presenting Ashleigh Moore from MSP Boxing Team (Massachusetts State Police Boxing Team) with the Ronnie Rowe trophy for fighter of the night at North East Fire Service Boxing show as part of TWFRS Sports and Welfare Club International Sports Tournament. Top girl!
Well done Avon Fire & Rescue Service and all blue light and council responders in Bristol. This looks like an extremely serious incident which will have tested those that went to it. Our thoughts with the person who sadly died, their family, and all those affected.
